Introduction

This tutorial explains how to enable and set up BoxTrapper in cPanel.

  • BoxTrapper is a tool that allows blocking the receipt of any e-mail whose sender was not previously included in the list of allowed addresses of the respective account holder. It acts as an email filter allowing messages from new senders to enter the recipient's inbox only after their email address has been added as a known address. In this way we can create a filter that allows receiving e-mail only from the mailing addresses we want from, thus avoiding contact with unknown senders or spam messages.

Requirement

  • a cPanel account

Steps to follow

  • after logging in to the cPanel control panel, in the interface that will be displayed, look for the "E-MAIL ADDRESS" section, and there click on "BoxTrapper"

  • all email addresses you send emails to will be automatically whitelisted without interaction on your part. Since you are actually interacting with the email address, BoxTrapper assumes you agree to interact with it and receive emails from her and automatically whitelist that email.
  • "Configure settings"
allows you to set email addresses associated with BoxTrapper and specify the retention period for logs and messages attached to the queue.
    "Edit confirmation messages"
allows you to edit the response that will be received by addresses that send an email to an address that uses BoxTrapper.
    "Edit white/black/ignore lists"
allows you to accept, decline, and ignore email messages from specific accounts.
    "Forward List"
allows you to forward an email that has passed the BoxTrapper check to another email box.
    "Log Review"
eis a daily overview of all messages sent to your accounts.
    "Queue Review"
view emails trapped in BoxTrapper awaiting verification.
